Originally from Halifax, he has lived all over Canada, most recently amongst the deep powder slopes of BC's interior. He grew up watching and reading about James Herriot and until partway through veterinary school, he wanted to pursue mixed animal practice (both companion and farm animal). He holds degrees from Dalhousie, UBC and UPEI's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His main interest is surgery, both soft tissue and orthopedics as well as wound management. He has participated in both small and large animal mobile medical services in a variety of remote regions in Central America and closer to home has been a race veterinarian for sled dog races in both Canada and the US. When not working you can find him outside with his family.
