Euthanasia

With compassion, pet euthanasia provides a gentle farewell, relieving pain and discomfort.

We understand how difficult it can be to say goodbye to a beloved family member. We offer this compassionate service to our clients either at our hospital or at your home.

When should I consider euthanasia?

Can they do all the things that they want to do with comfort and do they still enjoy those activities? If they cannot do the things that they have always enjoyed, and it is causing them discomfort and distress you may wish to have a quality of life discussion with your Veterinarian. Pet euthanasia is a peaceful end of life practice that allows you to say goodbye to a beloved family member with dignity.

What happens during euthanasia?

We sedate your pet so that they are relaxed and sleepy. Once sedated an injection of euthanyl (an overdose of a barbiturate) is administered allowing a peaceful end of life.

Can we stay with our cat during euthanasia?

Absolutely.

What is the cost of clinic euthanasia?

Please contact our clinic for further information.

Do you offer pet bereavement support service?

We can refer you to several websites to help: The Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement, The Rainbow Bridge, and Metro Pet Crematory can also offer support. As well some pet insurance companies offer bereavement counselling.
